I have to say that this quaint little place in Dupont is one of my favorite DC brunch spots. Tabbard Inn is, as one of my friends would say, aggressively charming. It's located near the Dupont metro stop on a quiet little street just off of Connecticut Avenue. It's unpretentious and quite cozy, with a wood burning fireplace for the winter months and a sunny little patio area for the summer months. The food is hearty and the service is warm and friendly. Make sure to call ahead for reservations, as everyone else in DC loves this place too.
Poached eggs with pork belly and cheesy grits. Best enjoyed with an ice cold bloody mary (they serve them with pickled string beans!). Delish! If you ever see the fried oyster version, it's even better than the pork belly.
Probably as famous as the restaurant itself are these delectable little donuts -- sprinkled with a little cinnamon sugar and served with vanilla whipped cream. Satisfying and simple.
